  • Short Bio

    Nicole is a semi retired experienced Rural GP who was based in Smithton for 15 years.

    Alongside her Fellowship in General Practice (FRACGP) is a Fellow with the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) with expertise in Expedition, Travel and Wilderness medicine as well as interest in Envornmental aspects of health & wellbeing, Sports Medicine and Nutrition. Nicole has past experience in Emergency Services with the SES and Remote Area Search & Rescue, therefore has expertise in the challenging aspects of Tasmania's wilderness areas, climate and natural disasters. She has acted as a consultant for Bushwalking groups, Commercial wilderness guiding companies and Non-Governmental Environment/Conservation organisations as well as neighbourly working with the Tasmanian Parks & Wildlife service.

     

    Outside of work, Nicole owns and manages a Conservation Covenanted property on the edge of the Tasmanian World Heritage Area. She has special interest and expertise in Conservation Land Management. She is also an avid bushwalker, photographer & citizen scientist.
